There are at present 1,882 intermediate and degree colleges in Pakistan out of which 1025 are in the public sector and 857 are in the private sector. In addition to that there are around 1,324 Technical/ Professional Institutes in Pakistan. Majority of the technical professional institutes of Pakistan are in the private sector (67.8%). As students spend the prime of their youth in the colleges, one should be very careful in choosing a college in Pakistan.
The best colleges in Pakistan concentrate not only on providing quality education in Pakistan, but also in overall development of the student's personality.

However the importance of the Pakistan colleges lies not only in providing degrees and thus producing quality human resources for various sectors of the economy, but also in making the youth agents of bringing about socio-economic changes in the country. In order to achieve these goals, the curricula and the system of college education in Pakistan needs to be revised periodically.
