Introduction
The Baltic state of Latvia, officially known as the Republic of Latvia, is situated in Northern Europe. The country shares its land borders with Estonia in the north and Belarus in the east. Some parts of the country witness continuous snow cover during the winter. The constant precipitation provides ample waters to the rivers and lakes present in the country.
