Introduction

Transportation system in Denmark is very advanced and well organized. A highly developed transportation infrastructure ensures that there is a smooth flow of traffic. In fact, if figures are to be believed then three percent of all passenger transport in the country is through bicycle or moped. Bicycle tracks have been built all over the country.

Denmark is one of the few countries where people increasingly use bicycle for traveling from one part to another. There is a strong preference for cars by passengers and transportation by cars constitutes 77 percent of all public transport in the country. Comparatively, the number of motorways, expressways and highways is large.

Also, the people in the country respect the traffic rules and observe the speed limits in place. Local buses are the central part of the public transport in the country. There is not much rush in the public transport. Traveling by Train to Denmark

Danish transportation system is one of the most advanced and well organized in Europe. The country has an extensive network of public transport with all facilities viz. rail, road and air having regular and frequent services. Denmark is connected to Sweden and Germany with rail links. The Oresund train connects Swedish city of Malmo with Copenhagen. There are departures every 20 minutes.

Local Transport in Denmark

Local transport in Denmark is fairly advanced with bus and train networks having extensive coverage. Bicycle is a preferred means of transport though a major chunk (77 percent) of working population uses cars for getting from one place to another. There are important traffic restrictions in place during busy hours. Most Danes, however, choose to live close to their homes as this helps them in getting to their workplace quickly. There is a Copenhagen card that enables the holders to unlimited travel on buses and trains. There are inter city trains available that run at every hour.
